Yesterday's T.H.U.N.D.E.R.
or: The Little Company That Couldn't

Wally Wood, Steve Ditko, Gil Kane, Reed -FLIPPIN- Crandall, George Tuska, Al Williamson…

Seriously? How does a bullpen like this fail to take over the world?  I'm not sure the anthology format helped. Perhaps the lack of a Lee, Jobs, Disney type to rally the troops? Distribution did them no favors (I only saw a single issue during Tower's brief lifetime. Everything I know about Tower is back issue and trade magazines)

This weeks grab bag doesn't come from a box (it doesn't come with a fox, it doesn't come from a can, I do not like green eggs and ham) it was just a doodle I ran across while cleaning up the studio. I've no idea what prompted it but the addition of the Iron Maiden is easy: Wally Wood-THUNDER- do the math.

I have always loved the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents and was happy to see these drawings and to hear that you are also a fan. Thanks for sharing these and I always hope that Leave It to Chance will make a comeback someday. Doug Hancock
