TV Wonderland
Or: Fun With Flat Screens
After many mishaps my wall mount unit for the big screen finally shows up. The adventure is just beginning. No combination of bolts, washers and spacers allows for a secure mounting of the support bars to the TV. This is why the Flying Spaghetti Monster invented hardware stores. Next it turns out the TV can’t go flat against the wall without the frame blocking out all inputs other than HDMI…d’oh! Pilot error on that one. Should’ve done a better job of pre-order inspection. Fortunately, the frame is much wider than needed and I can trim off a quarter of the width without degrading stability. Finally the unit is attached to the wall, the TV is hung on the frame which now fits flat against the wall and… it’s too high. It looks good on the wall but requires too much head craning to be comfortable. I’ll try again tomorrow.
